Your Tuscan Retreat

Il Colto commands a prominent hillside position, offering magical views of the Tuscan countryside and combining relaxed Old World Tuscan charm with contemporary comforts.

A house in the country

From its roots as a working farmhouse, Il Colto has been transformed into an elegant, private house featuring wood-beamed ceilings, stone walls and hand-plastered finishes.

Calm, natural tones and elegant bathrooms provide a relaxing environment, with wonderful views from the bedrooms.

The pool

The turquoise infinity pool is a spectacular setting for both your morning swim and your sundowner drinks.

Living space

relaxing & dining

The House offers space for up to 8 comfortably and yet is designed to be intimate enough to suit a small group. The Barn is perfect either if you need extra space, or if you are looking for a cosy getaway as a couple, out of season. There are numerous options for indoor and al fresco dining.

The peaceful gardens offer incredible views of the Tuscan countryside, with the property itself surrounded by grain fields. Lounge beside the pool overlooking the rolling hills and enjoy the view. For the more energetic, running or cycling is a great way to enjoy the local scenery and there is also a tennis court onsite.

The couple's hideaway

The beautifully renovated barn is the perfect couple's hideaway. Featuring a magnificent fireplace, luxurious furniture and antiques, this is the ideal place for your romantic retreat.

An extremely comfortable bed, beautiful surroundings and a tranquil Tuscan countryside will ensure a great night's sleep. The Barn has one double bedroom and can be booked in addition to The House, or separately.

Living Space

The interior was designed in a classical style by Patricia Hewlett Design, with a carefully chosen combination of antiques and bespoke furniture. The result is an interior that is equally comfortable and luxurious.

History, culture and Chianti.

Il Colto is the perfect base from which to explore the historic walled mountaintop towns of Volterra and San Gimignano, the galleries of Florence and the numerous wineries of Chianti.
